Dr Boon Woo graduated from Medicine at the University of Adelaide in 2006.  He undertook specialist training in General Medicine and Acute Care Medicine at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Lyell McEwin Hospital and Royal Adelaide Hospital. During his training, he held the position of a Chief Medical Officer for Lyell McEwin Hospital and a Clinical Lecturer in the department of Medicine at the Adelaide University. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian college of Physicians in 2012.

Boon has a special interest in Diabetes, General Endocrinology and General Medicine. He also provides consultation and admission services at Calvary Central Districts Hospital.

Dr Sajini Basnayake qualified as a rheumatologist in 2013. At which time she obtained her fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She has a broad interest across all aspects of clinical rheumatology including inflammatory arthritis (rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis etc), connective tissue diseases (SLE, scleroderma etc), degenerative arthropathies and other soft tissue rheumatological disorders. She also has a particular interest in inflammatory myopathies and has been involved in recent research in this area. Dr Basyanake also completed training under Australian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine, which enables her to provide musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound guided injections to her patients, with conditions such as screening for inflammatory arthritis, shoulder sub acromial bursitis and guided injections, suprascapular nerve blocks for refractory rotator cuff arthropathies to name a few.

Dr Teena Silakong works as a palliative medicine physician at the Northern Adelaide Palliative Care Service at the Modbury Hospital and Lyell McEwin Hospital. She also provides a consultative service in palliative medicine and geriatric medicine to the Calvary Central Districts Hospital.

Teena obtained her medical degree from the University of Adelaide in 1999 and undertook the basic physician training at the Queen Elizabeth hospital. She completed her advanced physician training in geriatric medicine and palliative medicine in 2009. She trained at both the Queen Elizabeth Hosptial and Royal Adelaide Hospital. She is registered as both a geriatrician and palliative medicine physician.

Teena has a special interest in non-malignant palliative care, end of life care in the elderly and nursing home medicine. She also provides general geriatric medicine and palliative medicine.

 

Dr Hooi ShanYap is a MBChB graduate from University of Auckland in 2007. She obtained her fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of physicians (FRACP) in 2015, after completing her advanced training at Flinders Medical Centre. She provides consultation for all respiratory and sleep disorders, with special interests in:

  • Complex sleep disorders and non-invasive ventilation (CPAP and BiPAP)

  • Chronic cough

  • Asthma and COPD

  • Interstitial lung disease

  • Solitary pulmonary nodule management.

Dr Hooi Shan Yap believes in providing holistic care to the patients, emphasizing on good communication with patients and GP's by acknowledging their needs, in order to provide a comprehensive management plan to ensure optimal care.

Dr Yvonne Low is a graduate of the University of Auckland in 2007, she completed her Gastroenterology training at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Royal Adelaide Hospital, and was awarded her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2015.  

She has a particular interest and expertise in the management of Chronic Liver Diseases, and has completed further training at the Royal Darwin Hospital in 2015, where she gained invaluable experience and exposure to liver disease. She continues to provide her expertise to the Gastroenterology Unit at Royal Darwin Hospital, where she holds a VMO position. 

Dr Low is accredited to perform Gastroscopies, Colonoscopies and is currently undertaking further training in the latest technique of Capsule Endoscopy.

She is fluent in both English and Chinese, and is happy to consult in Chinese with any patients who may desire this service. She is an empathetic and approachable professional, with a passion for achieving the best possible outcomes for all of her patients. 

 

Dr Satish Pillai received his specialist degree in General and Acute Care medicine and he has particular interest in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Respiratory Medicine. He also has extensive experience in Intensive Care Medicine and currently holds a Specialist Consultant position at the Mount Gambier Hospital.
